Our signature is bold, contemporary and cutting edge!

In South Africa, we have produced worked for : NORVAL ART FOUNDATION, ZEITZ MOCAA, JAVETT ART CENTRE.

COLLECTION ADVISORY

The team provides an independent and objective advisory service for private, commercial and corporate clients - from bespoke design and artefacts through to formal art; from temporary installations and pop-ups to permanent collections.

With each project the unique objectives, environmental and social needs of the client are analysed, and a proposal provides the basis for the project. Each project incorporates extensive interaction with the client and/or end-users throughout research, design, implementation and delivery. Post curation services include ongoing market valuation and sales.

Services also extend to studio tours and environmental explorations.

GE AFRICA INNOVATION CENTRE

The GE Africa Innovation Centre in Johannesburg South Africa is the home of Innovation for the global digital industrial organisation in Sub-Saharan Africa. Kathy, for InnovationSpace.Design at the time, consulted to the team on the localisation, conceptualisation, and implementation of environmental design, art and industrial design, signage and digital exhibition design.

Completed in June 2016, the interior refit has won awards for Innovation and critical acclaim.

Over 150 items were commissioned from local artisans, curated with local gallerist, Monna Mokoena, with InnovationSpace. Design providing creative direction.

African design included up-cycled fabric from across Africa used in soft furnishing; Tables; Chairs; Furniture from Peter Mabeo, David Krynauw, Goet, Egg Designs, Studio G.

The grand piece was a commissioned 3-storey mural by acclaimed wood artist Peter Mabeo, which extends from the exterior canopy to the interior reception.

The key to the success is the seamless and innovative integration of global and local, industrial and artisinal design (pieces) which allows the environment to be versatile, uplifting and inspirational.             www.geafricainnovationcentre.com
